GoodFolk : A Fruity Finish- Valrhona Le Noir Extra Amer

Valrhona Le Noir is a fine dark chocolate - not too dry (like I found Ghirardelli's Intense Dark Midnight Reverie 86% to be). Bitter at the outset, it quickly emits a somewhat creamy, fruity finish. One of the better dark chocolates I've sampled. Excellent quality; four and a half stars for the slight dryness, but I have yet to find a five star dark chocolate!

I nibble on dark chocolate to still my sweet tooth, but I could easily recommend Le Noir Extra Amer for a wine pairing.

As of this writing (Feb 2015), this is at Trader Joe's for around 3 dollars a bar.

This is my favorite everyday bar for munching. But seriously that price is outrageous. My local Trader Joe's sells these for $2.99 each or $14.95 for 5.

The first time I saw this Valrhona chocolate was at a Trader Joe's here in Nebraska. Being someone who loves dark chocolate with a high cacao content I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. The texture of this chocolate is smooth and silky. And the taste was perfect for a bittersweet chocolate bar. This is every bit as good in quality as is Lindt or Ghiradelli. I highly recommend it for the dark chocolate lover and would certainly buy it again.

I had this chocolate years ago and adored it. Didn't remember it until today when I recognized the wrapper.

It was really dark, low in carbs, heavenly.

Right now this product is not available on Amazon. I'm going to go scope out Trader Joe's and see if it's there. If you're a dark chocolate fan and see this, snap it up.
