Are these seriously just six candy bars? Like, over $5 per bar after shipping?

Answer: Yes, that's probably the real price. I've only ordered it once or twice, because of the cost and my on-again-off-again dieting, but when I do order them, I eat them slowly... and savor each bite. It's like a special treat! Sometimes I give them as gifts, but only to people who know how rare these babies are. :D The price right now ($23.99 for 6 + $6.99 s/h) is higher than I remember paying for them a few years ago, however. I've heard Crunchie bars are similar to Violet Crumble... so I think I have to try those out.

Answer: Yes, but it was worth every penney! As a violet crumble fan and getting other friends and family hooked onto it, ordering a bunch once a year or two and then sparingly eating it is not so bad. I grew up with these bars being available at the stores in Hawaii and was so sad when I couldn't find it anymore. The last time I ordered I waited about six months to get it because the supply had run out and apparently they don't produce it all the time.

Answer: Yes. I believe they are only made/shipped from Australia. If you haven't had them before you may not want to chance it. But..... If you are a violet crumble lover and have not seen them in years you wouldn't hesitate.

Answer: A bit expensive, yes. But I only buy one package a year and try my best to stretch it out. They are that good. You can get them at World Market most of the time if there is one near you at about $3.99 each. There is not one near me. I first discovered these in 1986 in Hawaii. They were sold lots of places there.

Ok, I'm hard pressed to think of an American candy bar which is like this Australian candy bar - I don't think there is one. My pathetic best is to say that it's got a light and crunchy inside. My American son said "Eh", my daughter is saving one of hers for her American friend (who grew up in Australia) who said "Oh my god, I love those." I thought it was pretty good, it was certainly different. Recommendation: be adventurous, give it a go.

I grew up in Australia. I was 14 y.o then and a "Crumble" bar was pretty much everyone's favorite. That or fish & chips from the Avalon milk bar. It brought back some very good memories and my friends.dear

My wife used to find these at World Market's in Seattle and had trouble finding them regularly after moving east. The odd Australian bakery in Atlanta or candy superstore in Chicago may carry Violet Crumbles but it's a rare treat. Cool to find them here at a decent price. Great candy bar... I think they're like a lightweight Butterfinger, the center is like an airy crystal texture rather than dense Butterfinger filling. It's almost crisp to bite into and has a flavor that's unique to my tastebuds. Love them, wish they were easier to find in the States as apparently they're common down under!

Surprisingly decent. I shared it with a couple other people who also enjoyed it. It’s kind of like freeze dried honey in the center (with a similar texture to “astronaut ice cream”) coated in chocolate. I tried a couple brands of this honeycomb-coated-in-chocolate combination and this one was my favorite.

I do not care for milk chocolate and thought I was getting dark choc. Flavor is the same on the inside and I like that. I also like the color of package and reference to purple in the name. I'd like to get the dark chocolate bars here and not have to send and spend to Australia to get what I want and have to buy the whole farm to get it. I had to buy an entire case delivered from Australia in order to get the dark. It'll get better, I know it.
