Questions about World Confections Candy Cigarettes, Pack of 24
Q:
What are the ingredients listed on the boxes? Are they made with sugar or dextrose?
Answer: sugar, corn starch, corn syrup, tapioca, beef gelatin, artificial flavors. That was taken directly from the box.
Answer: Ingredients: Dextrose, Corn Starch, Corn Syrup, Tapioca, Beef Gelatin, Artificial Flavors.
Answer: dextrose IS a sugar
Q:
Do these candy cigarettes have a red tip? The originals did and I have yet to find them.
Answer: No. And these are not like the old ones. Very skinny. No red tip. Not worth any price. I got them for a joke and didn't even use them. Very disappointed
Answer: No they don't have a red tip
Answer: Sorry Yvonne, these do not have the red tip.
Answer: Just get some red food coloring if you want red tips.
Answer: They’re honestly as good as I remember them. Yeah, some are skinny but the amount that come in each box is addicting itself.
Answer: No :(
Q:
Do these have "smoke" powder that come out when you blow on them, like when we were kids?
Answer: The ones I got did not put out any "smoke" like the old ones did. They are not like the ones from the 50s-60s. They don't have the red tip and they don't taste the same. To me, they taste pretty bad. Maybe the ones I had as a kid would taste bad now, too, but I remember them being sweet and a little minty. These taste like chalk.
Answer: Are you maybe thinking of the bubble gum cigarettes that had the white wrappers on them that you could blow the "smoke" between the wrapper and the gum?
Answer: No..as I recall, the 'smoke' cigs had a paper wrapper on them..these are not those..just straight sugar!!!
Answer: These don't. The gum cigarettes from the same company do.
Answer: No, they are not individually wrapped cigarettes. They are white, minty candy sticks.
Answer: No not these ones sorry.
Answer: No
Answer: No. Those were the bubble gum ones :)
Q:
are these the original recipe? not the hard yucky ones?
Answer: I think they are hard and not a great flavor. Necco wafers and valentine hearts are better tasting. That is what I would expect. This is pure novelty and not candy to be savored.
Answer: These are the original, melt in your mouth goodness from days gone by!
Answer: I am not sure about the original recipe, but they were the same thing I got as a kid.
Answer: I thought they were kinda yucky...I ordered them to help me quit smoking...lol....I threw them out
Q:
What taste do they are?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Candy Cigarettes are sugar sticks that have a sweet taste much like a Smarties.
Answer: I purchased these as a present and the people that received them said they taste kinda sugary but not to much, they said it was hard to describe the taste because there is no specific flavor (s).
Answer: Hard to explain the taste. They taste just like the ones from the 60's and 70's. I would say that maybe they taste like hardened frosting? They are pure sugar.
Answer: They do not taste like smarties at all- very different. They are a hard, yet soft smooth sugar with a very slight vanilla flavor-more like a Necco or Starks. Smarties have a slight tartness that these definitely do not have.
Answer: It tastes like pepto bismo to me
Answer: Hello Jose, These white candy sticks are mildly sweet without any distinctive flavoring which makes them very popular by everyone. It's a nostalgic candy.
Answer: Like sweet chalk.
Answer: Like sweet chalk.
Q:
So the "About the product" has "White candy sticks with a red tip" but they do not have a red tip? Is there some reason for this lie?
Answer: Unfortunately, this listing was not created by our company and we are unable to correct it. To our knowledge, no candy cigarettes are currently manufactured with the red tips.
Answer: These candy sticks are wrapped in white only. There is no red tips.
Answer: All these multiple descriptions from different sellers can be confusion, we understand. These candy sticks are nostalgic candy, quite well known.
Answer: It does not say red tip on our product description page. Please contact the seller who describes it as.
Answer: We are sorry about the product not having a red tip. The manufacturer gave us that description to use. They make be making them differently now. Would you like to send them back?
Answer: when I bought them they were fine I was happy

Answer: These are not plastic wrapped, but they are really thin and didn't look like cigarettes at all. Definitely not like the ones I used to buy as a kid.

Can you smoke them, and does anything come out of it when you suck in?
Answer: These Candy Cigarettes are solid--they do not contain the powdered sugar that some brands used to contain that would give the illusion of a "puff" of smoke coming off the candy like a real cigarette. They are solid white in color and have a hard, chalky consistency that many people remember, as this formula has remained the same (and will even melt in your mouth)!
Answer: No you can't smoke them. It is candy. All you can do is chew and swallow ????
Answer: Yes the powder does come out, just like the original candy when we were kids
Answer: Lol nawwww... it’s just candy sticks. 100% grade A sugar sticks. Don’t give them to small kids at bedtime, but breakfast and lunch is appropriate ????
Answer: They are solid sugar candy sticks. Innocuous and nostalgic candy.
Answer: Can you see the big red advertisement on the box that says it's candy? It's candy! so the answer to your questions is NO

Product reviews of World Confections Candy Cigarettes, Pack of 24
Apolonia : Let your kids live a little... Lol
I know this is considered by some, bad parenting/"auntieing" on my part, but it's candy and my kids are running around with pens in their mouth pretending they're Danny Zuko and coyboys, etc. I always teach them that smoking is bad, but I figured as long as they remember that, why not have some silly fun with these candy sticks! lol They smell like peppermint and are so yummy! Perfect for party favors or just some fun (as in my case).
Rob Lynch : Great gift for those who grew up with these
This was a gift for a family friend, and they were overjoyed with the nostalgia of it.
Hugbell : I love that the little cartons all have different 'logos' and ...
I missed these sugar sticks from my childhood. I love that the little cartons all have different 'logos' and 'brands' on them. I plan on keeping the box and the cartons when we're finished and displaying them in the garage. Great novelty candy!
Molly : Awesome
A blast from the past! I saw these and it took me back to my childhood. Now the flavor was never the best part of this gum, and it still isn't, but I was more excited for the little puffs of "smoke."
donna yates : Lots OF FUN!
I was so happy to have found these! My grandmother used to give them to my kids every Christmas and I have now continued giving them at Christmas. My adult children enjoy them so much!
Amazon Customer : They taste like I remember when we used to think it was ...
Have almost quit smoking and am using these to help with cravings, giving my hands something to do. They taste like I remember when we used to think it was cool to buy these and pretend.
Mike T : Broken and Product Not what was advertised
I ordered this product due to the fact it shared in the information that it had the red tip.
When received the product did not have the red tip and the majority of the candy was broken.
My plan was to share this candy with my cousins at a family reunion to bring back good memories of when we were little and not only did the product not represent what the information shared they are broken.
Very disappointed and feel somewhat cheated. I would NOT recommend purchasing this product.
Molly : Awesome

Amazon Customer : Almost the same as from my childhood
Just what I needed to make a cigarette tray for a ‘Speakeasy ‘ Prop. Popular with guests. Almost like we remember from childhood. Packaged in boxes of 10 with different (faux) brand names and logos. Same taste. Some broken (about 25%). Solid white, so I had to color the tips with beet powder. Reasonable value for my purposes.
Nicole Kennedy : nice treat
I buy these for my mother, she loves them.
Amazon Customer : They taste like I remember when we used to think it was ...
Have almost quit smoking and am using these to help with cravings, giving my hands something to do. They taste like I remember when we used to think it was cool to buy these and pretend.
Eangelk : Didn’t like them. Taste like sweet chalk.
I always order these from a candy store online. I saw these online and decided to give it a try. I didn’t like them. Not sure why. They are the original candy cigarettes but they tasted off for some reason like swat chalk. I also didn’t like the boxes didn’t come individually wrapped. Shipping was good none of the candy was broken but will not order again from here.
Drew Croker : I Love Candy Cigarettes
I particularly love them when they aren't shy about calling them what they are. There are LOTS of candy cigarettes in this pack. It's only two "brands" of those listed, no way to select which one's you're getting. As they are all the same product, that's not a problem. Buy these and keep them in a low-humidity area and they should last you a while. Unless you're over two packs a day in which case, I'm no doctor or life coach, but you should probably consider cutting back ;-)
dotti morris : Do not order
Was not bubble gum box was crushed cigarettes were broken
Heather Obray : how fun would it be to get something I know all ...
I wanted to buy something for the adult stockings this year! I thought, how fun would it be to get something I know all the adults in my family have had as a child/teenager? These candy cigarettes were perfect for my idea! I love that it came with a total count of 24 boxes. The little candy cigarettes came in different little boxes which I really liked as well. The were smaller then I remember, but then again, I was only 10 at the time I enjoyed them. These were great! A+++ Product!

Mr. Bacon : Yum yum... I want more!! Can’t stop eating them
Yum yum, these are so good. Taste like how I remember them as a kid. They arrived whole and had very few breaks. The downside was that they were individually wrapped in plastic, which I felt was a waste. And they were about four dollars more in October compared to now, two months later.
AmazonShopper1 : Awesome walk down memory lane
It is exactly like one of the types of candy cigarettes we would get as a kid. Hard to describe flavor...maybe sweet with hints of wintergreen? It you want a blast from the past, definitely a great treat. It came packaged exactly like what was in the picture.
Ashley Padilla : Mold on the food item, and no returns available!
The quality with this brand is always hit and miss. I ordered two boxes and the first one was fine. However I gave my child a box from the second package, and he said it tasted weird. When I took a look at it I noticed mold all over the candy!! There’s no return or replace option for these and now I’m horrified to know that I’ve let my child eat something with mold on it!! Absolutely disgusting!
Amy : Bad Product!!!
I’m outraged! I just opened a box and ate two of the sticks, they tasted disgusting. When I poured the rest out of the box they are covered in MOLD!!!! Opened another box in the package all those stick are also covered in mold.
DeeVa : SO INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED! Every box in the carton is stale
SO INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED! Every box in the carton is stale. They are soft rather than crunchy. My favorite all time candy and these are disgusting. Cant even be eaten!
Kindle Customer : Old-School Fun
It's not politically correct, but these old-school candy cigarettes are the sugary sticks of fun you may remember from childhood. With the exception of the dyed red "flame", this candy is the melt-in-your-mouth same thing you could buy at the corner store. I'll be ordering more!
Amy : Bad Product!!!
I’m outraged! I just opened a box and ate two of the sticks, they tasted disgusting. When I poured the rest out of the box they are covered in MOLD!!!! Opened another box in the package all those stick are also covered in mold.
Zalerfamily : Great product
Shoots out a puff of smoke but doesn't last long.
T. Palmer : Tastes horrible
I bought this product thinking it was like the old fashioned candy cigarettes and I was terribly disappointed because these are horrible nothing like the old-fashioned
HP : Crudely made - A far cry from the original
I think the flavor is about right and they look white. Sticks are small in diameter, curved and pitted. The pic I show is what a "full" box looks like - doesn't even take up half the space. All the boxes are like this. The boxes are not wrapped in plastic, and I wouldn't even give these to someone for free unless I knew them well and gave them an explanation first before they looked at it.
B Order : Not edible
Read the reviews and listen to them! Won't be buying from this seller...Received packaging just fine, upon opening the product cardboard display packaging were very flimsy like they had gotten damp. Inside the individual boxes of candy were discolored. The candy inside was soft and disintegrating, not holding together. Not edible, went right in trash.
Caseybea : Crooked worms
When I was a kid, "candy cigarettes" used to all be STRAIGHT, and even had a tiny bit of pink food coloring painted on the end to make them look "real".
These are neither. They look like they were squirted out of a tube of toothpaste and let to dry. They're all curved and squiggly shaped, not straight at all, not even CLOSE.
No pink coloring either.
They taste more or less the same, but that's where the similarity ends.
T. Palmer : Tastes horrible
I bought this product thinking it was like the old fashioned candy cigarettes and I was terribly disappointed because these are horrible nothing like the old-fashioned
tls2466 : No, no, no
I’ve ordered from here before and they were great. Ordered 2 boxes this time and both boxes smelled a little like mold. I tried some candy from each box and they were awful. Threw both boxes away. Very disappointing! Won’t buy from here again. Yuck
Zalerfamily : Great product
Shoots out a puff of smoke but doesn't last long.
Cory Freshwater : Like they used to be
If you remember buying these from the gas station or even from the ice cream truck driving around your house, these are exactly like that. The box it's self is sealed but each individual pack is not sealed. If you are looking for these from your childhood these are it.
Momma2Bears : Better Than Reviews Suggest
The reviews straight up deterred me from ordering initially. I received a "full carton" of 24 packs of candy cigarettes. Each "pack" holds 10 candy cigarettes. There is NO red or pink tip. There was no mold, just fresh crisp candy.
Mal : Good product, but double check the ingredients
I bought these while reminiscing about candy from my childhood. They arrived on time- they weren't moldy or anything like other reviews. I ate half a pack before noticing the ingredients included beef gelatin. Yuck. It's listed on the ingredients on the webpage, but I didn't check because who the heck would think beef gelatin would be in these? When I was 7, I didn't care what was in them. Anyway, I just gave these away. Other than the fact that they unnecessarily contain dead animal (my mistake for not checking before buying), they were basically as I remembered them from 30 years ago.
dotti morris : Do not order
Was not bubble gum box was crushed cigarettes were broken

Heidi Hassinger : Candy sticks-old fashioned
Reminds me of 1960's tastes original. These arrived in good condition well sealed , no leakage or breaks. Better value than others. Recommend
Amy : Bad Product!!!
I’m outraged! I just opened a box and ate two of the sticks, they tasted disgusting. When I poured the rest out of the box they are covered in MOLD!!!! Opened another box in the package all those stick are also covered in mold.
BookAce : white twigs
White twig semi sweet sticks.... Nothing like the realistic ones I'd get when i was a kid, but at least the boxes look authentic enough when rolled up in my white T shirt sleeve . Bought them for a 50s hot rod meet. Made in Colombia ? What's quality control like on the assembly line?
AmazonShopper1 : Awesome walk down memory lane
It is exactly like one of the types of candy cigarettes we would get as a kid. Hard to describe flavor...maybe sweet with hints of wintergreen? It you want a blast from the past, definitely a great treat. It came packaged exactly like what was in the picture.
Garfield : Same old powdered Smoke with a great tasting gum
I purchased these for my wife's throwback bday party. It has been over 30 yrs. since either of us had bubble gum cigarettes. Still the same, with the blowing of powdered smoke but dont remember the actual bubble gum tasting this good. A few times I forgot to blow the smoke because I was so busy unwrapping the wrapper to get to the bubble gum. Lol It was a hit at the party and will be definitely ordering again.
Evieanne : Disappointment
First of all they arrived all broken up. I could not use them for the 50's party I had planned. Secondly, they did not look like the candy cigarettes of old....they were small, thin pepperment sticks with no pink end. I got a refund. I would not recommend.
Ravenhill : Will be using as fun gifts
For the price, this was a fun value. I will be giving for stocking stuffers, Halloween, etc. There are just white sugar sticks, powdery on the outside...not the kind that had little wrappers with powdered sugar on each stick that one could blow to make "smoke".
Candy eyeballs and skulls have not led anyone to cannibalism (as far as I know), chocolate bunnies don't instill the desire to shoot rabbits, and the candy cigarettes like these did not make me a smoker.
They are fun and sentimental for some of us. They do leak a little of the powder, so should be sealed in ziplocks for storage.
J. Garcia : Old or poor quality gum
Consider this more of a novelty item. You can still blow a puff of "smoke" from these though it's hit or miss. A blast from my childhood past. I don't quite remember the gum itself being of such poor quality, though. It seems like every 3rd piece I chew mostly falls apart and the ones that don't tend not to be soft enough to chew comfortably without getting a good jaw workout. It has a tendency to REALLY stick to your teeth. I bought the 24 pack, handed out a few packs to acquaintances during the holidays but also made sure to warn them of these issues.
I had an old (chipped), metal dental filling that I stupidly enough tried to chew on the gum with and the hardness of the gum helped me crack the whole filling right off of the rest of my tooth. My fault, but I mention it because I don't suspect the wrigley's gum I usually chew would have done the same.
I suspect the gum may just be old. Though I, and others I've shared these with, got an initial kick out of this blast from the past, the quality of the product does not allow me to rate it at more than 2 stars once the novelty of it has worn off.
mustlovewine : Do not buy!!
I bought these as a gag gift. All the candy was broken into little pieces. Very messy and candy dust got all over everything. Tried returning, but am unable to. Complete waste of money.
