How many gum drops are in a 2.5 pound bag? I don’t want approximations. I need exact figures since I need a certain amount for a project.

Answer: Just look at the nutritional info. label and do the math. 2.5 lbs in the bag, 42 g per 10 gumdrops. 1 lb = 453.592g, so, 2.5 lb = 1134g. 1134/42 = 27, so, barring irregularities, there should be 270 gumdrops in a 2.5lb bag.

Do these gum drops have a black color in the mix?

Answer: There is NOT a black gumdrop, the Black-licorice flavor you’re looking for is replaced by the purple drops ANISE flavor. These are TOTALLY Gourmet Old Fashioned gumdrops, if that’s what you’re looking for...I was and it took me back to my childhood since I’ve never tasted one since then, these are it for me!!!

Answer: Sorta, at first glance they look black but are actually a deep purple. The taste is still licorice. Very yummy gum drops. (I don't really like the orange ones as they are cumin flavor.) The rest of the colors are more what one would expect. But a little spicy.

Answer: The photo in the product display is a good representation of the color mix. I believe that are six colors and they are fairly evenly distributed, out of a bag, less than a third would be red and green, You might search for Christmas Holiday gumdrops or try a dollar store. :-)

Hated this product; will never order this again. Flavors are awful, not anything like the "old" gum drops made by Brach's. They are flavored with strange chemicals, are hot-spicy. I'm very confused. The first time I ordered these they were soft and delicious AND they were in a different package from the next order which was chewy and now today, on my third order, I get another /different package and the flavors are not what is stated. The only reason I kept buying these was because of the unique flavors- none of which included peppermint which I don't care for. Today the order I received is just the typical Brach style spicedrop but they are much drier and chewier and the white ones are peppermint. I hate this third order and I'm going to complain to Amazon about this. You see, ever since Amazon started collecting sales tax for states, they pull our items from inventories all over the country so, our source/vendor never remains the same. This item was sold as a Sweet Gourmet item but sold by soemoene else and the ingredients are not even the same on the bag. This bag contains Sodium Citrate which is not on the label of the item shown. BTW, the bag I received last time ( my second order) was in the generic plain bag that is shown. This bag is bigger and says " Candy Shop" on it.

The colors are misleading- red isn't cinnamon, just a tip. The green drop is pretty potent. The anise is strong and delicious! The others are fantastic! Yummy flavors, fresh tasting drop that isn't stale or hard. Good for eating, good for ginger bread houses!

I bought them to use in a class with kids, so they definitely worked for my intended purpose (toothpick houses, which is why there's a 4-star rating). However, the kids also wanted to taste them (they are candy, after all) and they didn't taste that great. If you like the flavors listed, you'll be fine but I found them to be VERY overpowering. So, you'd eat one and have that flavor stay in your mouth for a while. Still, some people did eat them so I got my money's worth outside of the activity.
