Answer: I have never seen the word “old” on or about this product. Just looked again.

Answer: I don't know. This chocolate bar was recommended to me by my holistic nutritionist. It is my favorite. more dark chocolate with less sugar.

Answer: The ingredients are free of dairy. However, the bar states that it is manufactured on equipment that processes milk. I am lactose intolerant, but have never experienced symptoms from consuming these bars.

Green&Black's 70% dark chocolate is my favorite dark chocolate. I eat about an ounce every night and would love to eat the whole bar, but know that wouldn't be good for me. My only complaint is it's expensive, which is another reason I only eat about an ounce every night.

I am by no means a chocolate connoisseur, but the 70% is fantastic. I was originally going to get the 85% but I'm very glad I didn't. 70% is already quite dark for a casual. Definitely start there. Don't expect it to be anything like your standard Dove "dark" chocolate; this is some real chit.

Merciless : Shipping is a big issue for this product. DO NOT ORDER IN THE SOUTHWEST!

OK, that said, the product is actually good, but ours arrived melted. We immediately put it in the refrigerator and although its discolored it's probably still OK to eat - not very appetizing though. Amazon ships things by the Postal Service and they simply can't handle food that well, but UPS probably would not do much better. Wait until December if your temperature is usually above 90!

As for taste, we'll going to try this again in the fall and review it again.

Chocolate was not past recommended sale date, but only by one month. The chocolate was dried out, had the whitish bloom on the outside. It is very brittle due to the dryness. Taste is very subdued, and only after it has been in your mouth for a while, does it begin to taste at all. I will stick with the local store due to fresh product from now on. I eat this chocolate all the time, so I know how this should taste.

Tastes delicious, and does not upset my stomach like other chocolates do. Probably because this is organic, and thus does not contain any of the crap hydrogenated oils that put my stomach in torment. God never intended for man to eat the modern day crap hydrogenated oils that are ruining our health and only enriching the agribusiness corporations. I eat this chocolate with black walnuts which makes for a delicious and healthy treat. Black walnuts go great with dark chocolate and also with apples.
