I just lost around 50 pounds and was looking for something I could cheat with that wouldn't just vanish in a few bites and satisfy my desire for something sweet and caramely. These weren't as soft as the ones I purchased from my favorite fish camp which were so soft I could eat them like caramel chews but were fresh just the same. I love the taste and just when I think I will have to indulge in a second one (knowing that would be soooo wrong) I finish it and feel completely satisfied and relieved to be so. The shipping is not super fast but fast enough. I'm 60 so these bring back the good ole days when we ate sugar daddy's, sugar babies, black cow, taffy and of course baby ruths.

I ordered a box of 24 Sugar Daddys. they are stale...i put them in stockings for Christmas and all were disppointed...they are soft and stale. you can bite pieces of the candy off the stick, it's so soft.

I recently purchased a box of Sugar Dady pops. The product was a disappointment. Upon opening many of the pops, I discovered that many of them were truncated at the top, (weighing issues here?) with many having sticks haphazardly inserted. Some of the sticks were inserted into the pop up to the very top, while others simple seemed to lay against the side of the pop. The Sugar Daddy itself seems to be made of lower quality ingredients from the Sugar Daddy's I remember,. The caramel seems "rough" compared with the earlier product. The Sugar Daddy also seems to be much softer that the pops I recall. All in all, a surprising loss of quality and consistency with this product.
I am hoping that this is just a glitch from a "bad batch" but it will be some time before I work up the desire to try another full box.

This being my second purchase, and many of the Lollipops had cavities in the caramel, indicating to me that perhaps they were rejects from any quality control as compared to the first box. Out of say 8 in number from the top layer of the box at least 5-6 had major portions with less than full formed bars. The box is not empty yet and the lower individual forms are more normal.

I've ordered several boxes of these and I believe this is my second time to buy from this seller. The last purchase is the only one that I have been disappointed with. The candy is old, soft and chewy. The sticks pull out so easily that the sucker has to be held with the paper. I'm very, very disappointed.

I was very very disappointed with this shipment of lollipops. They were soft and poor quality, easily falling apart. I have brought this candy for years but never from this seller. After contacting seller they had the nerve to say I could send unopened boxes back and they would deduct 15% for restocking fee, as if it’s my fault their product is bad. Never again from this seller.

I've bought Sugar Daddys a number of times over the past years, each time being so disappointed with the consistency and flavor. When I've called the Tootsie Roll company Customer Service, they've told me there's been no change in the recipe and that they're made the same as always. Unfortunately, that representative never suggested it might be an issue of FRESHNESS! I ordered a box of 24 suckers in late June 2010 through DAB Nutrition on Amazon, and have been blissfully happy since they arrived. It is the same rich caramel flavor I remembered. So, be sure your sucker is fresh or else you'll have a crumbly, poor quality experience! Arrived quickly as requested. No problems. Thank you!
