I never got a definitive answer about the expiration date. Just to tell me that "the product is good" is not enough.Last shipment was out of date.
Answer: You need to pay attention to the format of the expiration date. As printed on the labels the format of the expiration date is different in the US than it is in Germany.
Answer: I never had bad experience with this chocolate sent via Amazon, so I did not have need to check the expiration date. But some year ago I ordered larger amount of these chocolates from different seller and all of them arrived bad. That time I checked the expiration and it had still few months to expire. I contacted the seller about it and they mailed me immediately new chocolates and nice apology. I would say, it does not matter that much on expiration date like on the way how chocolates are stored.
Answer: To update customer experience with the expiration date issue, I just received an order of these with an expiration date more than one year from now.
Answer: The shipment of Ritter that I received was the Hazelnut Milk Chocolate version, and the product was not expired. Only the manufacturer of the product can explain to you. By the way I have found that Ritter in both dark and milk chocolate can be purchased in some Walmarts, and are fresh.
Answer: I am a true chocoholic and a day doesn't go by that I wouldn't snack on Ritter Sport bars that I buy fron Amazon. The dark chocolate is fairly good and the 3 weeks' expiration was 3 weeks after I bought them. I know that there are much better chocolates but they are more expensive.

These are so delicious! So much so that my daughter and I "have a problem:" we're eating them too quickly! They really are good, and there are lots of nuts -- not as many probably as shown in the package photo but still enough to keep us happy and sneaking more way too often!

The chocolate is very good quality, and the hazelnuts are always fresh and crunchy.

I found these while shopping in a drug store and thought I'd give them a try. I loved them! One issue with doing that was freshness, as they're not a popular item and sit on the shelf longer.

Update 8/2019: I still enjoy this chocolate bar but find that the price point on this site is considerably higher than at a specialty grocery store chain in my neighborhood. I can buy the bars one or two at a time and don't have to order 10.

My mother in law is a great fan on dark chocolate with hazelnut. I ordered this package last year for Christmas Gift - she was really pleased. It is not so easy to find Ritter chocolate in our city especially in German language.

"Tjhsoajhykajshnosafuiahdsjkhla;a.l.a..."... That is pretty much how I feel when I bite into one of these. I can't even articulate words correctly these babies are so good. Hard to find around my area. Only one place I know of next to work sells them, so i went online to see if I could buy them in bulk to save me time and money and here I did find them. The bars were not damaged in any way or melted. They came earlier than expected, so I was a happy incoherent girl sooner than expected.
I'm going through most of the flavors except for white chocolate (abomination. lol) and dairy/milk chocolate. The Butter cookie one is good, as well as the mint, I really like the marzipan as well. Next I'm trying the raisin and rim and corn flakes.
