Is it true that this gum contains Titanium dioxide (a carcinogen)?

Answer: Yes, but Titanium dioxide is not the metal and it is not a known carcinogen. It is used as a whitener in many food and beauty products, because it's a pretty dull chemical. It doesn’t dissolve in water; it isn’t particularly reactive, and it isn’t easily absorbed into the body from food. Unless you're going to scrape off the coating on the gum and huff it, I can't think of any way you could actually get the substance into your system.

It is good to chew right after you brush your teeth.

Truth... Good, Bad, Ugly : Flavor dissipates too fast - but otherwise solid value

Taste is so subjective & I am a bit hesitant to review this product but I must say.. the flavor just runs out way too fast then I feel like I'm left chewing on a tasteless mass of goop.

I much prefer other brands of xylitol gum but will not name them here because I'm not trying to bash xyloburst or promote another brand.

Funny enough the brands of xylitol-based gum I liked the most ended up having artificial sweeteners & other crap in there that I'm guessing helps the gum retain the flavor for longer.

Now I buy gum that is in-between the two extremes: flavor lasts a good while, but without artificial junk in there.

I've bought a lot of different brands of xylitol gum and this one is my favorite. It stays soft and keeps its flavor for a long time. I buy xylitol gum because it seems to help my teeth clean, including my dental implant. Great gum!

About a year ago, I bought several different brands of Xylitol gum on Amazon including Spry and Ricochet. Xyloburst was the best by far, and Spearmint was my favorite flavor. I love to offer this to guests in a jar by the door as a relatively healthy alternative to candies.

One of the few spearmint gums sweetened with xylitol that I could find. Short lived flavor (typical of this type of gum in my experience, not just this brand). I chew it because Xylitol is good for my oral health, in addition to a flavor I like and *some* breath freshening effects (though this is not a powerful, breath-blaster type of gum).

Love the gum and the fact it avoids all the nasty bits that are present in nearly every other gum out there. It has a very good and clean spearmint taste and lasts as long as any natural gum and as long as I need it to. I don't chew gum for hours, but maybe some people do. The price is very good in this size and I appreciate that. Love it, and will order again.

I have had some problems with interstitial cystitis and all artificial sweeteners except xylitol are bladder irritants, so I wanted a gum that had only xylitol as a sweetener. Xyloburst fits the bill and this is a way to get it fast whenever I want more.

I've seen the reviews here on how this gums flavor lasts longer than the other xylitol brands they've tried... I can only guess that the other brands lasted 5 minutes compared to Xyloburst which maybe holds out to 10 minutes. Great taste, just doesn't hold up long enough.

I bought this, not realizing it has Titanium dioxide in it.
After chewing a lot of it I realize now that it has it and so I looked it up. Below is the info I found.

Now I read in another review comment that someone said that the titanium dioxide in this is NOT POWDER. They admit that it's carcinogenic - or a possible carcinogen - as a powder, yet think it's okay to chew 500 pieces of gum with this in it??

As far as I'm concerned it's INSANE to put a possible carcinogen like this in chewing gum!
The whole idea of this gum is that I don't have to chew aspartame which is probably a carcinogen.
So now I'm going to eat titanium dioxide instead?
Jheez! the people who make and market this product have to be out of their minds! How DUMB is it to make a "healthier gum" and then put a possible carcinogen in it??

It has been shown that high concentrations of pigment-grade (powdered) and ultrafine titanium dioxide dust caused respiratory tract cancer in rats exposed by inhalation and intratracheal instillation*.

CosmeticsDatabase.com lists titanium dioxide as being linked to cancer, allergies, immunotoxicity and organ system toxicity, among other problems.

This stuff is an ingredient in cosmetics and suntan lotion!
And they want us to CHEW it???

In my search for an aspartame free gum, most brands I've tried lose their flavor within seconds, and chewing becomes tedious. Xyloburst is the only brand I've found that is consistent with "regular" chewing gum. Flavor lasts longer than all the others.

I use this chewing gum regularly and in researching artificially sweeteners I am taking someone's word that this is a better option for an artificially sweetened gum if you use a lot of it, which I do. I became a gum chewer when I quit smoking. I have dry eyes and mouth and chewing gum helps the dryness, breath and feeling of cleanliness. I like being able to buy this in the larger amounts.

This is a lot of gum. You might want to start with smaller packs to check out the flavors to be sure you want 500 pieces of a particular flavor. Spearmint is my favorite.

I have been using Xylitol gum to prevent cavities for over 4 years. The XyloBurst 500 pc jar is much larger by weight (26.45oz) than the 600 pc jar of Spry gum (22.85oz) because each piece of the XyloBurst is much bigger. It takes 3 pcs of Spry gum to equal 2 pcs of XyloBurst.
