Does this gum have artificial sweeteners? I am looking for the old classic that didn't have aspartame or the like.

Answer: Yes - here's the ingredient list on my pack: Sugar, gum base, dextrose, corn syrup; less than 2% of: natural and artificial flavors, glycerol, soy lecithin, aspartame, acesulfame k, colors (yellow 5 lake, blue 1 lake) BHT (to maintain freshness). Answer: Hi Kathy, I also have to have chewing gum, bubble gum, etc that does not contain sorbitol or any of the artificial sweetners due to having IBS. The gums made by Wrigley (spearmint, doublemint and juicy fruit) DO NOT contain artificial sweetners, only plain old fashioned sugar. It took me awhile to read all of the small print on each brand but it is worth it ~ hope this helps!

Answer: It's primarily sugar and corn syrup. I have GI problems with aspartame etc sweeteners. Some is listed in the contents, some aspartame, but it's listed just before the yellow and blue dye to make green gum. I've never had problems due to the amount of aspartame in the gum

Ever since hubby quit smoking he chews gum like my cow chews cud - which is to say, constantly. He prefers the spearmint to any other gum because the taste isn't so minty that it creates a mouth burn, yet it is minty enough to be pleasant on the palate. And, he doesn't have to obsess about his breathe....which he doesn't need to, but does anyway. Go figure.

This is the new and improved Wrigley's Spearmint. I was buying this for my mother who wanted the old classic Wrigley's Spearmint and was looking all over town for it. This is not it. If you're looking for the classic flavor you remember, do not buy this.

According to a candy blog, the Classic Spearmint flavor has been permanently discontinued. How disappointing, eh?

Gave both cases (silly me, I bought 2), to a 23 year old. He loved it!

Maybe we should all write to Wrigley's and ask them to bring back the classic spearmint flavor.

Ordered these on May 6th 2016 during a 2 for 1 sale. What the listing didn't explain was the "best by" date was May 16th - less than 2 weeks away. Upon arrival, the gum was all completely stale and reminded me of that nasty gum inside of baseball card packs I used to eat as a kid. Now I'm stuck with 2 boxes of dried out Wrigley's that crumbles apart in my mouth. Yuck!

Was wondering why the gum tasted so different and why the texture was slimy - read the ingredients and the artificial sweetener is what's done it - I personally can't stand artificial sweeteners. They've totally ruined what was once a very good chewing gum.
