Questions about Marshmallows Sugar/Gluten Free Sugar Free Marshmellow 2.7 OZ
Q:
Can these be used to make s’mores? Or will they toast well over a campfire?
Answer: I used mine on our Thanksgiving yams. Put them on top and put them under the broiler and they toasted just like marshmallows!
Answer: They work great for s’mores and rice crispy treats!
Answer: I did use them as s’mor, made at hone. They tasted fine, but so expensive!
Answer: Yes, I thought they worked well.
Q:
I get these on netrition.com for $1.79/bag. Is this price for a 6 pack? The description shows $6.20 ($1.03 / Item).
Answer: only one bag, no shipping though
Answer: I only buy one bag at a time
Answer: When I buy them I purchase one at a time.
Q:
What is the carb content??? Product description says carb free but on package it's hard to understand, looks like there is 11gm of carbs??
Answer: You would be wise to play it safe and count one-half of the sugar alcohol carbohydrates; I am no chemist or dietician, but all that I have read seem sot come to the conclusion that while this will not affect blood sugar(good news for diabetics)this does not necessarily mean that this will be 'free' food or rather one to eat with abandon, as is my wont to do. I am one of those people that consider compulsive eating to be a competitive sport. By the way, these are really really good.
Answer: Maltitol is the sweetener in this product, and is a sugar alcohol. Sugar alcohols have no effect on blood sugar, therefore are reduced from your total carb count when counting carbs. Other examples of sugar alcohols are erythritol and xylitol. You also reduce fiber from your total carbs when counting carbs, as fiber has no effect on blood sugar.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: The sweeteners are sugar alcohols, which you can subtract from the total carbs. So the net carbohydrates are probably extremely low.
Answer: It does have carbs yes. I believe it is maltitol but can't really remember. Really upset my stomach, can't recommend - and definitely not low carb.
Answer: Products that use maltitol and other sugar alcohols as sweeteners can be called “sugar-free,” despite the fact they can still affect blood sugar. ... Since maltitol is a carbohydrate and has calories, it also affects blood glucose. The glycemic index is a measure of the effects of food on raising your blood glucose level.
Answer: It's probably because of the sugar alcohol. Although they are sugar free, I believe they contain malitol or erythritol which are sugar alcohols and really just as bad as sugar.
Answer: sorry Ana I don't know, this was a one off purchase, we don't normally buy them, but I was curious to try the sugar free marshmallows which were just fine, I don't have any left at home, this was ages ago. Regards
Answer: Product is from Belgium. The label is mostly in French, which I've never studied.
Q:
Is this price for one bag or for six bags?
Answer: one bag
Answer: We ordered Them last year for Halloween for diabetic family. It was one bag but it made lots of s'mores
Q:
What is the source of the gelatin in this product? Is it bovine or porcine?
Q:
Is there an expiration date on the bag?
Answer: Every bag has an expiration date. Of the product we sent to Amazon as CarbSmart, it is 04/04/2019. Make sure you buy from CarbSmart on Amazon.
Answer: NO expiration. It was a terrible product.
Answer: Yes there is.
Answer: yes
Answer: Yes. On the back lower right.
Q:
Has anyone tried to make fondant with these? Did it work? Taste?
Q:
Are these keto friendly?
Answer: If strict Keto then no, they are not because of the artificial sweeteners used. I know that some on “dirty” (not strict) Keto might use because of the low carb count but the artificial sweeteners may kick some people out of ketosis.
Answer: Yeah, we made this in a dessert with whipped heavy whipping cream and it was perfect. I'd recommend chopping them up, they're just sticky when you do.
Answer: Mmm that’s a per person basis. Did it kick me out of ketosis? Nope my pee stick was still purple... hope that helps.
Answer: Yes but expensive and you get very few for the price.
Q:
Is this halal?
Answer: I remember one of the ingredients as pig gluten. I don't have any bags to check right now, so I would say probably not.
Answer: No these are gross. Even attempted to roast and literally spit them out. Tasted like I was eating some type of chemical.
Answer: These marshmallows were terrible in taste!
Q:
are these vegan?
Answer: They contain gelatin so they are not vegan. Here is the entire ingredients list: Ingredients: Water, Sweeteners (Maltitol, Isomalt, Maltitol Syrup, Lactitol) Gelatine, Natural colors and natural flavoring (vanilla). Just like a regular marshmallow, it has a soft, smooth texture that melts in your mouth. Sugar Free and Fat Free.
Answer: No, these are NOT vegan
Answer: No its not vegan.
Answer: No, these are not vegan.
Answer: Probably not. It is not advertised as vegan and one of the ingredients on the package listed is pig gelatin.
Answer: They are not. They contain gelatin.
Q:
What is the calorie content of one marshmallow? I am having trouble reading the label.
Answer: This is made/from Belgium. The label is not like ours. It says 1 piece (15 grams) = 30 kcal Energy Value. Everything else on the label I can decipher: Proteine, carbohydrate, fibre, sodium, and lipidos (fat). So, I am almost positive that one is calories.
Answer: Each piece (Which is about 15g each) is 30 calories. The entire bag would be 200 calories.
Answer: It is hard to figure with the different languages, but the description says 15 cal per.
Q:
Can you roast these?
Answer: I’m not sure. I do know, according to the person I purchased this for, they melted just like a regular marshmallow, and tasted just like one. She even cuts one in half, for a half cup of hot chocolate. Putting it near a flame could be a different story. You may want to call the manufacturer first, just to be sure. You might try your microwave. I believe I’ve seen recipes for indoor s’mores where the microwave is used. Again, regarding an open flame, I’d recommend calling the manufacturer. Hope this helps. I do recommend for a mug of hot chocolate.
Answer: Very unhealthy product because it causes gastrointestinal problems and also still raised blood glucose. Minor issue is that it melts away when heated.
Answer: I used them on yams and put them under the broiler and they toasted up nicely!
Answer: I would think you could. It might add some flavor but I have no idea what the flame might do to them.
Answer: Yes. Browned up pretty well.
Answer: Yes, They worked just fine for us.
Q:
No sugar great, but this is not vegan right? It obtains pig gelatin which causes much suffering to animals? Is there a vegan sugar free marshmallow?
Answer: Dandies is the only vegan marshmallows I've tried and loved and they unfortunately do not have a sugar free version. They are a few recipes online to make your own though. Good luck!
Q:
Do these need to be refrigerated?
Answer: Like someone else said, don't open them till your ready to eat them or just like regular marshmallows after a while they'll get mushy. And you don't have to refrigerate them unless you like them Cold......
Answer: No, I don't open them till I plan to use them. There is nothing on the package about refrigerating.
Answer: I never refrigerated. They never spoiled (the longest opened was 1 month).
Answer: No they don’t.
Answer: No.
Q:
Is this kosher? What is the gelatin derived beef or pork?
Q:
anyone tried making Rice Krispies treats with these marshmallows?
Answer: Haven't tried but the package is pretty small. I'd guess you would need about 6 of these packs to make a batch of Rice Krispie treats. The flavor seems about right but uncertain how the marshmallow would melt down.
Answer: Didn't try, but wouldn't recomend. Texture is very different than regular marshmallows.
Answer: Yes! It works about the same way the sugar marshmallows work. Just need to work fast. I melted them in glass squarish container (rounded corners) in microwave just till almost melted. I think butter was involved. Google simple recipe online for amounts.
Answer: I have not, don`t care for them. I have however, melted them to use in cookies. The act and taste like a marshmallow. Love them.
Answer: Sorry I did not but it sounds delicious
Q:
are the marsmallows large or small, about how many cups per bag?
Answer: close to usual size of a marshmallow. Not sure of cup measurement as I eat mine one at a time with a cup of hot coffee. Yum!
Answer: They lare large marshmallows. and i would say 1 to 2 cups per bag, don't really know i did not measure it out
Answer: They are large and square and about 2 cups or less a bag
Answer: they are about the same size as the regular marshmallows. Not sure how many it takes to make a cup. sorry
Q:
How many marshmellows are in a bag?
Answer: There are not many, so they are expensive...probably fewer than ten. BUT they are delicious.
Answer: I don't recall the exact amount, but it's not many.
Q:

Q:
Anyone know if La Nouba has sugar-free Vegetarian marshmallows?
Answer: I have no idea. I looked at the ingredients for this product and it has malitol syrup, isomalt, water, pig gelatin, maize starch, acid: lactic acid, natural vanilla flavor, natural colour, Betanin, red beetroot. This one seems to have pig gelatin. You have to contact the company for that question.
Answer: sorry no
Q:
What are the ingredients?
Answer: Here are the ingredients as they are listed in the description:
Answer: It also contains maize starch. This also translates as corn starch. This is not corn-free.
Q:
Maltitol syrup is #1 ingredient - nearly as bad a sugar in GI and calories. Why is everyone a fan? Because marshmallow has air to reduce the impact?
Answer: These are gluten free marshmallows and wonderful when you have gluten free children who want marshmallows in their hot chocolate. Also maltitol is easier for people to handle when they have sugar issues. For us it is mainly the gluten free component.
Answer: Because it is safe for type 2 diabetics. While it may not be the healthiest option, diabetics feel left out so when I make special dishes for my family, I make sure everyone can enjoy them.
Product reviews of Marshmallows Sugar/Gluten Free Sugar Free Marshmellow 2.7 OZ
Natlee : Disappointed
It arrived in a brown cushioned envelope. It was somewhat melted and they all were flattened and stuff to the package. I have not eaten them yet, I’m highly irritated. And the bag is super tiny.
However my kids marshmallows (2 different brands) came in a box together with plastic bubbles inside and look as if I went to the store to get them. They bag and marshmallows are huge.
Dimitri : Sticky, but good
I really liked them, it felt like the real thing to me. They come in big squares, so I cut them up to better suit the recipe we were using them for and I thought they were perfect. I would definitely buy them again.
Charlie's : Missing marshmallow? Not any more!!
They actually created a real close to the original
Marshmallow.
Just like the real thing,
Great job!!
Thanks!! I’m a marshmallow freak,
Hopefully in time you’ll be able to make them affordable,
But: this is as close a replica I’ve encountered.
Thanks ! What a treat!!
Kathy Walker : Delicious
Very sweet and melts great for rice krispies. Just wish they were in a slightly larger bag.
Judith A. Bauch : melted
The marshmallows were melted and became all one marshmallow! Not happy with these.
Galaxee : These are okay.
Could have been better but not too bad.
L. Lawrence : Great marshmallow...total rip off! Buy the two pack or six pack instead!!
Do not buy this one since you get only a handful of marshmallows for $7. Buy the two pack first for $9 to see if you like them. If you do like them, buy the 6 pack for $17. Much better deal. My kids love these marshmallows and they help cut down on the amount of sugar when we have s’mores.
Elsa : They taste just like normal marshmallows
and they melt in hot chocolate just like normal marshmallows.
Amazon Customer : Great tasting
These marshmallows taste amazing! I used them to make Keto rice crispy treats! I purchased the rice crispy cereal from Amazon by highkey. They are zero net carbs! Keep in mind you don’t get a lot of marshmallows for the price but one package made like 10 Krispies
Linda Walker : Yum
Loved them in sugar free hot chocolate. Just like regular marshmallows
JustKay : Buyer beware - this is 7 marshmallows
This package contains 7 marshmallows, which is probably why the packaging is black, so the consumer can't see there's only 7 marshmallows in here. I knew a sugar free marshmallow would cost more than the marshmallows I buy at the grocery store, but in my mind, the bags would be similar. But no, this is 7 marshmallows. Although they are a bit bigger than "American" marshmallows, I still paid over a $1.00 for each one. I bought them as a gift, because my sugar free friend always wants marshmallows with her hot chocolate, but the cost is outrageous.
Trey Danzey : VERY TASTY
If you are looking into finding a healthy substitute for a marshmallow, look no further! This is the best and healthy marshmallow I have ever tasted! It taste much better than the regular thing and is much healthier than eating a regular marshmallow, I used this for s’mores and for the whole s’more it’s like 10g carbohydrates and like 100g calories or less for the whole thing not including the sugar which is 2g sugar with the graham crackers etc. So that seems much better than the real thing and taste a lot better.
Barb H : SUGAR FREE MARSHMALLOWS
TASTED GOOD BUT STICKS TO EACH OTHER. SIZE COULD BE LIKE ORIGINAL. I ATE A COUPLE WITH NUTRILITE
Denise Ott : SO GOOD-OMG!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD THESE ARE PAST DELICIOUS!!!! Who cares if you only get 8 - I miss marshmallows over the fire so much!!!!! Two was all I needed - can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!! For me, the price did not matter. Happy happy happy!!!
Anne Flynn : Amazing!
It's...an actual edible sugar free marshmallow ! I have no idea how this is possible, but these are amazing. They are marshmallows ! YUM !
Tweet : Better taste than expected
Great for those of us that cannot have sugar. Highly recomend this product
Amazon Customer : Melted marshmallows.
Marshmallows at arrival was melted in one big ball. Very small package,
Maybe 10 or 12 in a bag. I was
Disappointed.
Tammy : They are Delicious!
I was craving marshmallows while on the keto diet. I ordered one bag and was HOOKED. They taste like regular marshmallows but are low carbs. The one problem...it is hard to stop until the bags are empty! Note: the bags are on the small side, not the size of USA bags.

Amazon Customer : Yummy but pricey
These are delicious and meet my cravings for marshmallows when the time comes. To have a sugar free marshmallow is terrific. The bag is tiny and I was surprised by how few you get for the price so I don’t buy them as frequently as I would, but I do buy them from time to time when nothing else but a marshmallow will do.
Angulo : though this may be a good thing. This is not a weight control food
I'm kind of new in buying sugar-free foods..and I found this delicious..though the price wil probably keep most of us on a budget away from buying this too often, though this may be a good thing.
This is not a weight control food!...It may have no sugar but it still has CALORIES!...which will not help if you are trying to substitute for the regular stuff,so you should not eat in in excess.
I would have given it 5 stars if nor for the pricing.
Enjoy in moderation and on occasion if you find it affordable.
Tiffany Cox : Worked great for Keto Friendly Rice Krispy Treats
i was pretty happy with these little marshmallows, even though the mailman put them in the mailbox on a warm 96 degree day and they melted together. I was using them to make keto friendly rice crispy treats anyway. I added a little extra vanilla to the recipe as i felt that made them taste even more like the jet puffed marshmellows i used to use. They melted great. I did try to toast them, and although it wasnt perfect it was close enough for me. I wish i could have tried them on a smore, but like everything keto all the ingredients need to be homemade because you cant find sugar free graham crackers, or at least i havent..and didnt have time for that.
I would purchase again.
SW1544 : Pleasantly surprised! Darn near the real thing.
I'm a sugar fiend, but I'm trying to find ways to reduce my sugar intake and was a total skeptic on these. But I love s'mores and either needed to cut back on them (gasp!) or find a substitute. I thought for sure they would be disgusting and I was wrong. The texture is spot-on. The taste is kind of weak on marshmallow flavor but there is zero fakey sugar or chemically taste to these out of the bag. The true test was the fire pit and they roasted beautifully! They even get a little gooey, though not as much as a real marshmallow. My only gripe was that if you go beyond golden toasted (yes, they catch on fire just like the real thing), they do get a funky taste on the burned part. Not a burned taste, but weird in a bad way. They make a great s'more but I was turned off by the bad taste of the burned bits, so I decided to save them to eat as a snack alone. The Rice Krispie treat idea is also a good one. The cost is rough, but they are the best alternative I've found yet.
Amazon Customer : Don't waste your money
What a joke! Just got these and it's one big blob!
Eve : Yummy but not worth the price
Too expensive for the amount of marshmallows you actually get. Was tasty but not worth it.
KLG : Texture is good but barely tasty
I never like to write a bad review. I will say the good thing about the marshmallows are texture. The cons to me are not enough for the price, and the flavor is awkward. I’m not sure what to compare it to. Everyone palate is different. I bought these because I love Marshmallows but all the sugar isn’t good for me. Maybe taste better in hot chocolate?
Elsa : They taste just like normal marshmallows

Gay Duhon : Overpriced
Its flavor is ok close enough to marshmallow but quantity not worth price
K.K. : Very good
I thought these were very good. They didn't taste much like artificial flavoring
Melissa Stine : Not great.
Annnnnd if you're getting to make s'mores, they don't really melt. Not worth the money.
Jacob D Skinner : Tatse great but lacks the Marshmallow smell.
They taste just like regular marshmallows. However, they do lack the marshmallow smell. We just ate them straight so I'm not sure how well they would hold up in recipes as a replacement. They are a little pricey.
Roni : Tiny bag...not worth the price at all
The bag is so small...and the information is not in English at all....so who knows what the actual sugar content is??? I will not purchase again. ...save your money and use Sugar Free Whipped Cream!!
Hope : keto/paleo
We have a lot of family either on Keto, Paleo or just don't eat sugar. I thought I would try to alter some recipes to make them "diet" friendly! Bought these to top the yams! I just did a mini trial run and they were perfect!!! They toasted are sticky and sweet! Can't wait to see if anyone even notices on Thanksgiving. They are VERY PRICEY and you don't get very many so unfortunately they can't be a staple, but for a special occasion or a treat..go for it!
User 42 : Super expensive, but great!
I got this to make my wife keto rocky road ice cream for her birthday. It does have the correct texture for marshmallow and flavor. It gave the right feel and fluffiness for the ice cream. They stick together easily so I recommend to store them in the fridge until ready to use.
The cost was too high for us to use them in anything other than a special occasion treat. This item would not be on my regular shopping list for that reason.
Neighbor : 11 carbs per marshmallow
These sugar free marshmallows have 11!! total carbs per marshmallow. I cannot figure out net carbs from online including amazon how much or which sugar alcohol is used as it is not listed or possibly it is in belgian. The taste and texture is good though I had to throw them away because I cannot eat this if I cannot determine how much sugar/carbs is in them.
Angulo : though this may be a good thing. This is not a weight control food

The Misfit Nurse : Ewww
These are pretty bland and the texture resembles a marshmallow but the taste is sub par
Maybe it would work on top of a dessert but I didn’t test it to see how it melted because i couldn’t get past the flavor of the first one I ate. I’ve definitely had better GF marshmallows
L. Lawrence : Great marshmallow...total rip off! Buy the two pack or six pack instead!!

Coastal Ranger : Living low carb is not always easy. How can you go camping and NOT eat ...
Living low carb is not always easy. How can you go camping and NOT eat s'mores? So I gave these a try. They got soft and gooey over the coals, and I slipped it between two small pieces of super dark chocolate. The texture was right, but the taste wasn't. It wasn't bad, just not right. But it satisfied my craving and I wasn't interested in s'mores for the rest of the camping trip. I saved the package for the next camping trip, just in case.
Psyche53 : Good in hot Cocoa
These are not too bad. Very pricey, but I use only one in my hot cocoa at a time. I tried cutting one into smaller pieces to mimic mini marshmallows, doable but the scissors get sticky. They melt nicely like real marshmallows, but I haven't tried them in anything else yet. Not sure if you could toast them for s'mores, although the square shape would work well between crackers. The texture when eaten by itself is a little firmer than a regular marshmallow. But if you have to watch your sugar intake, these are acceptable substitutes.
Jerry-Candymachines.com : It was bairly OK, could use more of a flavor.
So - so for me, it was just OK. I eat and drink a lot of diet things and this one just doesn't have much flavor. It's worth trying to see if you like it, but for the price and taste it was a one time shot.
Neighbor : 11 carbs per marshmallow

Julia Scott : Yummmm
They were very tasty. I just wish you got a little more in the package. Other than that, I will totally be ordering them again.
hannah francheski : Great Over the Campfire
It was hard to find a sugar free marshmallow so I was excited to find these. They melt well over a campfire and you can almost pretend like they are your average sugar-filled product. I'll definitely buy these every time I go camping.
Elsa : They taste just like normal marshmallows
and they melt in hot chocolate just like normal marshmallows.
Elsa : They taste just like normal marshmallows
and they melt in hot chocolate just like normal marshmallows.
MJClemm : Not warm..
Packed very very well... but flavor, and warmth just were not there...
Jaime : Good treat for low carb
I do low carb, but wanted smores this summer. These did the job and have a great taste. Not gritty or any weird consistancy.
2nd purchase review: This time they came, they were super hard. Upon review, I noticed there is a hole in the packaging. I attempted to do an exchange, as to not put it on a review but they do not allow returns. That being said, obviously I reordered for a reason. Would still buy again.
