Answer: I keep them in a container in a cool dry place, not the fridge and with no discoloration. They only last as long as you can keep from eating them up.

Answer: They seem to last for a long time. I did not see any spots on them and I have had them for a couple of months. After this weekend, they are all gone.

Answer: In our house they don't stay around long enough to find that out!!! But, really, it's better to keep them in a cool, dry place. I keep them on a low shelf. I have put them in the refrig but, then, they didn't melt in your mouth the way chocolate should, and were not as pleasurable. But, oh, how I love Dove dark chocolate!

How much caffiene is in each piece?

One description says these are (4 bags, each of) 9.5 oz, but another place on this same page says they're (4 bags, each of) 8.5 oz.! Which is right?

Answer: I received 4 bags, 9.5 oz each, BUT chocolate I received was obviously previously melted, hard to open individual wrappers, and chocolate fell apart. I requested refund. Beware!

Answer: Dove has specialty items like the Dove Almond Promises, the Dove Peanut Butter Promises or the Dove Chocolate Eggs which they sell in 8.5 bags. The regular promises (milk chocolate, caramel or dark) come in 9.5 bags.

I have tried sooooo many different brands of dark chocolate from organic to cheap to imported to whatever, and Dove is still my favorite because of its creaminess. And who else puts little inspirational messages on the inside of the wrapper? No one. PS, try the peppermint bark over the winter holidays. You won't regret it, and you'll look forward to it all year long!

I did read other reviewers complaining about melting issues, my product arrived with not a melted piece in site and it was delivered in the middle of summer. I would definitely purchase this product again!

We each eat 3 a day for the antioxidants. It's a wonderful way to get antioxidants! High quality chocolate and it arrives in 2 days. These taste great, but that worried me as dark chocolate is more bitter and their label says nothing about the % of cocoa. I raised the issue and one reviewer called the company and they say it contains 40-50% cocoa. The advice generally is "To get the benefits of flavonoids you want to eat good dark chocolate which means higher cocoa content. The amounts of flavonoids in chocolate can vary dramatically and with the standard processing for chocolate making you can lose much of the healthy flavonoids. Many companies now include cocoa content on the packaging. A general rule of thumb is to aim for 70 percent or higher cocoa for the most disease-fighting antioxidants. The true test for health is a high flavonoid content as a high cocoa percentage doesn’t always guarantee a flavonoid-rich product but at this point it is the best way to judge from the packaging. Typically, the more bitter the chocolate the more flavonoid-rich cocoa it contains." These taste good but it is at the expense of higher cocoa content I am afraid.
