Please note that I received an e-mail stating that you now had the 11 lbs bags. I tried to order it I could not get pass the "confirm this order"...?

Answer: Try again. Ordered the 11lbs, and received just few weeks ago.

Answer: Normally, I'd say call the Amazonian cause virtually she took care of my urges everytime. But honestly, she told me to throw out a defective charger from BONAI a few weeks ago and followed a month later by advising, "You never sent it back so your being billed..." contrary to what she advised during our chat. So just look elsewhere.

Just to be clear, is the flavor a combination of Caramel and Ginger? Or does "caramel" refer only to the texture?

Answer: These have a sort of hard caramel texture with a definite caramel flavor, just not a very strong caramel flavor. Once you have them in your mouth they soften to a real caramel. These are different from the ginger chews which are soft, chewy and a bit sticky.

Answer: Try playig stingy until they're back in stock. No one knows when it'll restock so always re-order on lb#10 out of eleven, or you'll never end up in a toothless heaven.

Answer: It's not my product line, but I've found that they are of the strongest, and certainly the strongest of the semi-chewy ginger caramels.

Answer: They do have the strongest ginger flavor, but also very pleasant in their "bite".

Advertises 11 pounds, yet prodct description say 2 pounds? Which is the weight paid for at ~$52.?

Answer: I last purchased this item seven years ago and didn't weigh the contents, but eleven pounds sounds accurate. The box is still going strong.

About how many come in your 11lb bag?

Answer: According to the label on a 3 oz bag, there are approximately 30 pieces/3 oz which mans about 160 pieces per lb which would end up to be about 1760 pieces in the 11 lb box. All based on their estimated servings, not my personal counting. Hopefully that gives you a bit of an estimate to work from.

Answer: It makes a difference when I am making 1,000 care packages for cancer and hospice patients. Do the math!

Answer: I haven't tried the super strength. The super strength says it's 30% ginger, whereas these say it's 13% juice. So I would say SS.

Answer: As with any candy made with sugar which is a nutritional energy source, you can expect a gin gin to temporarily perk you up (depending on your sugar tolerance). For reference, a gin gin has less calories or energy than a starburst chew. I eat gin gins to satisfy sugar carvings as an alternative to more intensely sweetened candies, and for the added benefit of the pro-digestive / anti-inflammatory properties of ginger root.

I have ordered this candy for a few years now (before and after the name change!) and I like it for so many reasons. It has a great taste. I don't have to read the ingredients to know that ginger is in it. I can eat several pieces without busting my diet. It is great for a queasy stomach and as a mouth refresher. To say the least, this is my favorite candy. I keep it by my bed and in my handbag. And I share it with others!

I ended up buying the huge bag of these after going through several small bags from a local Fresh Market. At the time I was having trouble with nausea and these worked wonders for me. (suck, don't chew, they last longer). The only reason I'm taking off a star is because I prefer the 'hard' version and these start out hard but end up chewy and you're tempted to chew. The hard ones just have a better flavor and last longer. I apologize for any unintended sexual innuendo in this review :)

I have purchased these before, and when I saw that they were available through Subscibe and Save I was delighted. I received the package yesterday, and they were in a box within the shipping carton. That box had such an obnoxious moldy smell that I couldn't tolerate it. I opened it and got rid of it immediately. However, now the candy was in a giant plastic bag that also had that moldy smell. So I emptied the bag into something else and also disposed of it. But, yuck, the smell stayed on the candies. Fortunately each is wrapped individually and the taste is not effected, but 15 hours later the smell is still there. If anyone in your household has mold allergies you will not want to purchase this.

Until we found Gin Gins, we had to make it on our own. That's no mean feat here, where the humidity is almost always above the recommended level for cooked sugar messiness. We tried a variety of other ginger candies, all of which were too focused on ginger's distinctive bite.
Even allowing for sharing with friends, family, the occasional stranger and one of our dogs, this bag will last us several months. They are perfect in the car. The individually wrapped candies don't turn into a huge melted glob and are always at hand for my partner, who suffers from occasional car sickness. They're great for dry mouth, too.

This variety of ginger candy is okay (and the shipping was fast enough...all the mechanics of the transaction were just fine) but doesn't really compare to the original ginger chews from Ginger People. I'm saving this to take to craft fairs and ordering more ginger chews for me. :)

However, this would be a great substitute if your teeth aren't up to the challenge of the chewy original ginger candy. Getting the wrappers off probably burns some calories, too. There's no easy way to get them out of the sealed mylar-type wrapper except to get scissors and cut each one open...kind of takes away the fun of eating a handful while you read, watch television or socialize. Of course the original chews are in the same kind of wrapper but they're 2-3 times the size of these lozenges and totally worth the effort!

Ordered 11 pounds of these, they had been melted and reformed making them stale. Was shipped another box. They were exactly the same. I have a bunch of these now and although they are edible they are very hard to eat. I have ordered many pounds of ginger chews and freshness seems to be the most important factor. It seems to be 50/50 what you will get.

These things are magic for stomach problems. I have seen them at world market in small bags but decided I loved them so much I might as well save a few bucks & buy some in bulk. I kind of misjudged how large a quantity this was but I couldn't be happier. Just make sure you have a big enough recepticle to store all of these beauties.

These are so yummy! I am a huge ginger fan, and I would say that while these are not very strong they really do take care of the craving at a fraction of the calories of crystallized ginger that I can literally chew through. And the price point is perfect too. This bag is the size of a regular plastic grocery bag.

This is a giant box of candy (one 11-Pound bag is really big), and I was excited to find that because it was costing a fortune to buy the smaller bags at the natural food store.

But this candy wasn't the same - it didn't have the ginger bite, and did nothing for my stomach. I contacted the company and they said sorry, you're out of luck. Maybe these are seconds?

So maybe it's worth a try, but just know you might end up with the same giant box of useless candy that I did!
