Questions about Do it yourself Bubble gum Kit | Makes 1/4 lb of Bubblegum! | Copernicus Toys | A fun and great-tasting way to explore the science of food!
Q:
Can this be reused?
Answer: No. But it is definitely worth buying. This video is why I bought this brand. https://youtu.be/-5rjDc-nl2g
Answer: No. You mix up the ingredients to make gum then chew it all up. I gave it to my granddaughter as a gift. She said it wasn't the greatest tasting gum, but she didn't care. Had a lot of fun making it.
Answer: No its a one time kit. The gum was bad it was just something fun to do with kids.
Answer: No. It's a one time think make one batch
Q:
is the gum base already flavored or do you add in the flavoring?
Answer: no i don't believe you do. Not speaking from experience - but it tastes like paste. If you have a flavoring to add i would give it a try - it can't taste any worse.
Answer: It is bubblegum flavors. I don't see why you can't add in some if you have it.
Answer: Already flavored but my child did not love the flavor as much as she did the making of the gum.
Q:
How many pieces of gum does this make?
Answer: We made our pieces small. There was alot! My 6 and 8 year old boys each got a small baggie full. It was enough they got tired of chewing it.
Answer: 14 pieces the size of a Jack ball
Answer: Depends on how big of pieces you make. At least a dozen!
Q:
I want to use this kit for about 24 students as an after school activity. How many kits would I need for this many students?
Answer: I bought 2 kits because I had two classes of 22 and we had plenty for each student to have at least two pieces. 1 kit should be good for 24
Answer: I would get 3 kits
Q:
Is there soy in the ingredients? Does the box state it is made in on equipment exposed to soy or other allergens?
Q:
The boxes I received did not contain the corn syrup packet it indicated on the paper instructions. Is it needed? How much is needed to make it?
Answer: Our kit did come with corn syrup. The whole packet was used but we can not remember how much it was.
Answer: Yes it is needed but I don't know how much was in the packet. I made this at the beginning of summer. If I had to guess I would say there was probably about 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Good luck!
Answer: definitely needed. My packet looked to be about 2 to 3 tablespoons or so.
Q:
Can you make this without a microwave?
Answer: Yes, but it isn't the best tasting and is only good for a few days. The fun is in the making of it.
Answer: My grandson and I did this a year ago and it was great fun. I think you could use the stove top instead of the microwave.
Q:
What flavor is it?
Answer: Bubble gum flavor. It tastes good and is fun to make.
Answer: Bubble gum.
Q:
How many pieces of gum does a kit make?
Answer: I don't know. I gave it to my granddaughter as a gift two years ago - she's still talking about it! She had fun making the gum n
Answer: Depends on how big you make it....for my class about 16
Answer: 10 or 12. It didn't taste good and they didn't keep it.
Q:
Is the gum flavor artificial, or natural extract of some sort? Is there dye in it?
Answer: It has no flavor, and there is no dye, so the gum comes out a greyish color with little taste. Don't get this!
Answer: It is natural extract, no dye in it. And it's very tasty.
Answer: We got this a long time ago. It was simple and plain as I wanted to offer it to my kids for the science fun. I don't believe there is any flavor... but I cannot remember if there is a dye.
Answer: There is no color in it. You add food coloring if you want. Don't know about the flavoring.
Answer: Artificial flavor. I can't remember for sure, but I think we added food coloring.
Answer: dye
Q:
Does the ingredient list say the allergens or that it was made where allergens could be? A diff. base contains soy which won't work at school.
Answer: Unfortunately the gum base also contains soy.
Answer: honestly, i am not sure - got it and used it awhile back
Answer: Sorry but I don't remember
Answer: Cant remember
Q:
I was looking for a chicle gum kit with the plain base to add my own flavorings to, specifically clove. Does this have the plain chicle as its base?
Q:
Does the gum base contain latex?
Answer: no, this gum base does not contain Latex
Answer: This was so long ago I don't even remember if the grandsons liked it. Sorry
Q:
is this gluten free
Answer: Yes but DO NOT BUY!!! my box came and was missing 2 of the main things to make the gum the gum pelets and the corn syrup
Answer: I would look at the ingredients list.
Q:
Can u leave it si
Q:
What are the individual ingredient amounts? Gum base, corn syrup, sugar etc.
Answer: I'm sorry I do not know. I gave it as a gift. My g-son did have fun making it.
Q:
Is the gum base pure or does it have added calories like sugar/starch?
Answer: The gun base is just little balls of rubber. I don't think it has anything added to it, the sugar and flavoring is all separated so you can add it or not.
Answer: yes it has both as ingredients, it has every thing you need to make gum
Q:
Is this kosher?
Q:
Where is this made?
Answer: You know, I wanna say that I recall it being on the box, Made in the USA, but I can't be 100% on that, as we no have the box... Or the gum for that matter.
Answer: It is made in the USA.
Answer: Not sure but if I remember correctly, it was Canada. The store it sells in is in Denver, CO.

Pete : Two Stars

Nana225 : Fun!
Easy and quick and good if you like gum. My 5 yo and dud this in less than 30 minutes with no prep and very little clean up!
Babs : Three Stars
Fun to make but dont expect it to taste great.
Kim : Four Stars
Bought as a gift for a soon to be 10 year old.
College Jane : Ok
It was a an add-on gift and really just ok. She had fun making it, but the end product was marginal. But, the point is making it, I guess.
katie : Five Stars
It was exactly what I was looking for.
message4ashley : Gift for 4th grade boy - he loved it!
This was a gift, so I'm not sure yet how well it worked. I do know that he was super excited to try it out, so I'm going to give this 5 stars unless I hear something different.
SD : Felt like a kid again.
Fun project for a sleepover. Easy as can be. Tasted like popular gum brands. We made ours a teal color.
BrianandAmber : Five Stars
Son had a blast with this
timbo : Great gift and great fun!
Looking for a fun gift to gift a kid? This is it! It was easy, just needed a bit of help (she's 8 years old) and she loved it We did add some flavor and a drop of food coloring. and it lasts! The only negative is that it makes a small amount, but what fun!
Nana225 : Fun!

What a mess and it gets dried out easily.
Pete : Two Stars
Fun for my kid but the gum tasted really badly.
Mo Manchanda : Four Stars
Love it
Celeste LIriano : One Star
Is not worth the money.
Michelllers : NOT 1/2 pound! Barely 1/4 pound!
Good kit, but does NOT make 1/2 pound as stated. It makes barely a quarter pound. It even says so on the box! The side of the box that says, "Makes over a quarter pound," is the only one not pictured. Also, the "mixing container" is not nearly big enough. Definitely not worth $16. The 11 year old who saved up her own money (and wrote this review) for this product says that she probably will not buy again although the gum did taste good.
Melinda Whitehurst : Easy to use
All supplies provided. Clear directions. Simple to make. The entire activity did not take much time either. Try it now.
Juli L. : My 8-yr-old daughter loved this, but I didn't love it so much
My 8-yr-old daughter loved this, but I didn't love it so much. Making the gum was easy enough, but I didn't add food coloring (which disappointed my daughter), because our hands would've turned red when kneading it. What a mess that would've been. The gum tasted good and we put what wasn't chewed into wax paper wrappers. I haven't had any since we've made it, but I assume it's still good (especially, maybe, because she put them in the fridge).
timbo : Great gift and great fun!

CShep : Fun concept but not fun
First, there was so little actual gum once it was made and it was just a one time-shot. Second, no coloring was included. Third, gum went bad in the first minute or two. Fourth, it just looked weird. Fifth, kids were very interested at first but quickly became underwhelmed.
SHAREL NELSON : Super fun
This was a family present for my 3 kids (13, 10 & 5). They were able to read the directions and independently make their own bubble gum. A lot of fun!
R. Bain : Great !!
My son is a 2nd grader he had to do a report on an invention. He picked bubblegum. When time came for him to do an experiment this kit was prefect. The kids in his class were amazed on how it was done and how easy. There was plenty of gum to go around the class of 22 with some to come home. If your child likes to play scientist this is a great kit!!

Jill K. : Fun
My 5 year old had a blast making this with me and I will say he liked the flavor. However I was not a fan of the flavor but had fun with the project.
Laure Damon : Four Stars
Awesome experience!
Kathryn R. : Fun! But difficult clean-up.
My kids were watching the mail every day for this to arrive, and it didn't disappoint on the fun scale! The history of bubble gum was interesting to read through, and they loved mixing everything in and chewing their first pieces. We cut it into about 20 rather large pieces. Definitely could have gone smaller. My one complaint is that the the mixing bowl was teeny tiny and did NOT fit all the gum pieces, let alone the corn syrup. Maybe if I'd have put the corn syrup in first, and then balanced the gum balls on top? I might have tried harder if I'd realized what a giant pain it would be to clean one of my own bowls. As it was, the balls were falling out and I hadn't put the syrup in yet, so I just dumped it all into a small Pyrex bowl and microwaved that. Cleaning the gum residue off my glass bowl - standing at the sink scraping it with my fingernail - took longer than setting up, making the gum, and cleaning everything else up, combined. A larger bowl would be much appreciated. If I ever do this again, I'll have some disposable bowls on hand. Other than that, great activity!
Librarygirl : Not that bad!
I thought the process was very quick and easy. The gum tastes just like bubble gum, just a little tough. Blows bubbles just fine. I think you could easily get 20-25 pieces out of a kit. I would recommend this kit to anyone wanting to make bubble gum.
LSJ : Not that great
My 9 year old used some of the gum and threw the rest away.
penNameAlpha : Still chewing!
I made a massive ball of gum. The kit works well.
Nana225 : Fun!
Easy and quick and good if you like gum. My 5 yo and dud this in less than 30 minutes with no prep and very little clean up!
John Paullus : Five Stars
Kiddos like it!
Elizabeth V Wade : Five Stars
My daughter loved it. Very easy to make.
Cory Christensen : Eh
Easy, decent fun, no flavor to gum

This is a Easter present
Corin L. Intrieri : Yummy family time!
We really had fun with this kit. The flavor and texture of the gum was good and it was pretty easy to make. I think the mixing/cooking bowl needs to be larger because we had to make it in 2 batches. We were confused by the white color but after we read the directions a couple of times we saw to add food color. I don't know that it was a great value for the cost but it was fun family time and a successful "experiment."
A. Nalli : Meh
One kit makes 1/4 lb of gum not 1/2 lb. even says so right on the box.
Msto : Five Stars
Worked great as a classroom demonstration.
Maria Cone : Two Stars
Messy
Kim J. Beck : A REAL BUST
will not purchase again
BB : Fun but messy
It is so much fun to make but it is really messy! The flavor it has you can't really taste so you should probably get your own flavoring. And don't add to much powdered sugar.
shopper girl : Wouldn't buy it again
Ok, not great, not a lot of product, doesn't stay fresh for long.
Michele Tatro : Bubble gum fun!
Purchased as a Christmas gift for my brothers family. They had so much fun making bubble gum! Plus they enjoyed doing it all together. Sweet deal!
