Answer: It is not the same as thE ORIGINAL GUM. IT IS HORRIBLE. I BELIEVE IT HAS THE SHELF LIFE OF TWINKIES! I have Blackjack and Beemans I,ordered last year. It tastes flat there is a flavor that disappeared as soon as you start chewing it. Not anything like the original. I tried to return it or at least get a credit but was denied because of COVID. Worst tasting gum I have ever had. Made me sad because I grew up with these two gums. Do not order it if you had the original. You will be very disappointed.

Brooklyn Mark : A pale substitute for the original

I give it two stars only because I loved the original so much growing up. This version, made in Morocco according to the package, is thinner and more brittle than the original. It smells how it ought to smell and the initial taste when it enters your mouth is similar, but that's where the familiarity ends. After five or six bites, the gum loses all flavor and you might as well be chewing a pencil eraser for amount of joy you'll get from the product. So, so disappointing.

Amazon Customer : Rejected for a good reason

I was pleased to receive this item as I had not enjoyed any Beeman's gum for several years. Upon receiving it and opening it I noticed the authentic aroma of the gum. I was eager to try a stick but noticed something about it that caused me to immediately throw the entire box into the trash. (Returning something of this value to Amazon is not worth my time or effort.)

Beemans is the ONLY gum that I really liked. When it became hard to find I started to lose interest, so when I saw that it was availible again I got pretty excited. That was short lived because it's like chewing on blubber and the flavor is gone in just a few minutes. I chewed one piece and the rest is setting in the frig. I'm pretty disappointed.

I love older products and stuff and I think more products from our past should be brought back. This with teaberry and clove is my all time favorite gum. With such a unique and distinctive flavor I think it is awesome. I used to go to a sweets shop when I visited my grandma in the summers and would always buy this. I was so sad when it was discontinued but am so happy they are selling it again.

I recently experimented and purchased a number of chewing gums that don't have artificial sweeteners, including Dentyne Classic, Bazooka Classic Bubble Gum, and Beemans. I also bought a number of Xylitol based gums, including Epic Spearment, Xyloburst Spearment, Spry Fruit Flavored, and B-Fresh Bubble Gum.

Of the sugar sweetened gums, Dentyne contained High Frutose Corn Syrup, Bazooka Class contained Corn Syrup, and Beemans contained Glucose Syrup. The Dentyne also contained cottenseed oil...and I haven't figured that one out. But all 3 contained BHT...up to 2%.

The smell of the Beemans is wonderful, but does not quite translate into the taste, which is mild by comparison...and somewhat short. It's also the softest gum base. Too soft in my opinion. Not the Beemans of old.

I wish I'd read the reviews. This gum is NOT Beemans. I ordered it specifically because Beemans gum had pepsin. There is no pepsin in this gum. The write up said "Beemans is back!" No it isn't. That's false advertising. They better take it back! Update: this item is non-returnable. Amazon, however, refunded my money. Too bad. Now to find some kind of gum that helps with stomach issues!

Purchased Beemans gum for over the past 6 years, love it when I run each morning. Helps my stomach calm down. Grandson loves the gum, he tried it when he had an upset stomach, worked great, did not have to take any other products to settle his stomach. Great Srevice, they do not seem to handle it any more. Remember this gum was used when the first man broke the sound barrier. World famous.

I am allergic to aspartame, splenda, any time of artificial sweetener really. Every brand of gum I find in the stores always has some sort of artificial sweetener (I guess it adds sweeter flavor and makes the flavor last longer). Since I hate the "original flavor" gums that are really made for kids, I had been looking for a long time for mint flavored gum that didn't have a waxy texture.

This gum is fantastic. The flavor lasts a while, and there are no artificial sweeteners. The consistency is exactly like gum is supposed to be (doesn't turn hard after chewing, doesn't turn to "goo" and doesn't feel waxy). I believe the flavor is wintergreen - delicious.

I buy this for my 74 year old mother, who used this gum as a child to ease her upset stomach and in-between meals to stop her from snacking. She's quite happy and so am I. It is a hard to find item but she'll make an entire box last about a year by keeping the box in the freezer and pulling one pack out at a time, then cut each stick in half to prolong each pack.

If you loved the old original Beeman's chewing gum from the old days, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It is NOT Beeman's at all. I agree with the comments above. There is no Pepsin in this gum and the Pepsin is what made Beeman's , Beeman's. This is not even an acceptable imitation of the original Beeman's. Not even a good "copy-cat". I say don't waste your money.

Beemans used to be made by Clark, who also used to make Black Jack, Clove and Fruit Stripe gum. This product is now made in Morocco for Gerrit's Brands. The product tastes pretty much the same, but the flavor doesn't last very long. The price is way too much for me, especially after you add on shipping. I would not buy again.

I just purchased two packages of Beemans gum...and I am completely disappointed. The original was made by Adams and it was outstanding. This new gum is labeled as Beemans...however it is made in Morocco (why ??).....packaging appears to be substandard making me believe what else is substandard in the actual gum. The flavor while similar, just isn't the same. The original Beemans from Adams contained Pepsin as an ingredient...however on the wrapper of this gum made in Morocco makes no reference to having any Pepsin in it....makes you wonder what other cost cutting measures they undertook....

Bottom Line: I'm disappointed that the company that purchased the naming rights to Beemans Gum chose to devalue the product - both in the substandard packaging but also in the formulation of the gum. And why is it made in Morocco...why not the USA ? If you are going to bring to market a historical brand like Beemans, it is best to not change anything as your customer base will surely know the difference. I have been chewing Beemans for over 60 years - and I can definitely tell a difference in this gum. Looks like I'll be throwing the Beemans I received away....

Beemans has long ago replaced the Pepsin flavoring with Wintergreen. While that provides a very tasty gum it is nowhere near as good as the original Pepsin flavored gum. The gum has excellent chew-ability and maintains a good consistency even after an hour of chewing. It does not get hard or difficult to chew. As is typical, the fresh flavor does not last for anywhere near that long, but since that is not a significant factor for me I have to rate the gum 4.7 out of 5.0

I didn't know that these gums were still available, I looked them up online and for goodness sake, I discovered Beeman's, Clove, and Blackjack gums. I was very disappointed to learn that Teaberry had been discontinued. I wanted to buy all of these gums for my grandchildren so that they can know the gum I chewed as a child. My grandparents owned a hardware store and my favorite place was the "gum rack". Grandpa would give me money to "buy" gum from Grandma. It worked, I had all the gum I needed. I loved them then and still love them now.

Well I was ripped off and I can't return the unopened box so I'm stuck with this terrible excuse for Beemans gum. I got a little too excited when I saw it was back and didn't think to read the reviews. This tastes EXACTLY like Wrigleys Winterfresh gum-it's too minty now!!! Wish I had read the reviews and saved myself the financial loss. This is nowhere near Beemans gum. They can keep this garbage. Hopefully they discontinue it again so nobody else is as disappointed as we all are. So incredibly disappointed.

This gum is so hard to get. The company stopped manufacturing it full-time and only gets it out once every few years. I buy up many boxes to last until the next run. It is soft to chew and maintains its flavor for a long time. The pepsin is supposed to be good for your digestion, so how can I miss.

On the product page it says the gum has pepsin. This is the only reason I bought it, because pepsin is a digestive aid. Without it it is just another chewing gum! These people should not be allowed to sell gum or other things until they realize you shouldn't steal other people's money, which is what this amounts to!

If you are looking for Beemans gum, This is not it. I don't know where Amazon found this product but it is a bad bake. Flavor last about 4 minutes. Gum base is not chewable. It is not made in America.

Not the original recipe and does not contain the key ingredient, Pepsin. Taste is similar but is gone in a matter of minutes. I’m old enough to remember the original. Fair enough copy though.
