About Taza Chocolate

We make stone ground chocolate. Cacao is so complex in flavor that we want to let it shout loud and proud. That's why we do less to bring you more. We stone grind organic cacao beans into perfectly unrefined, minimally processed chocolate with bold flavor and texture. We grind single-origin Dominican cacao using vintage Oaxaca stone mills to preserve its complex flavor and rustic texture, then blend in organic chilies. Can you use these to make hot chocolate with water, instead of milk? (for backpacking trips, for example, where you can't bring milk)

Answer: Yes--I've done it before. It won't taste like your typical milk-based hot chocolate, but it's really good nonetheless.

Answer: Ours came very soft but not liquid. We put them in the fridge to harden and they tasted fine. I’d try it, it won’t look the same but can’t hurt.

This product was wonderful as described. My problem was the packaging and delivery. There was no where marked on the package that this was chocolate and should be kept cool. It was delivered to my home mailbox on the hottest day and sat in the mailbox for around 4 hours. It was completely melted but I put it in the refrigerator to solidify. I am able to eat it but instead of 2 disk there is just a solid piece of chocolate that is very hard to cut or break. I manage though and it is as good as the other reviews have stated. I was just so disappointed in how I received it.

Mmmmmmmm.....The best kind of "hot" chocolate when mixing the sweet with the spice and this not only makes a great "hot chocolate" in a mug "Abuelita-style," but also perfect sugary giant chunks for the chocolate-chip cookies you might wanna bake to accompany it! Also great melted over a true vanilla-bean ice cream or pumpkin ice cream.....great for coming up with ideas and while traditionally these spicy chocolates consist of traditional red peppers, jalapenos or chipotle, Guajito is something truly gourmet and rarely found. Highly recommend!

You have to understand it's not American chocolate as far as the texture- granular rather than smooth. I use it in cooking and making spicy winter drinks but not for a snack, just to eat out of the package like a chocolate bar.

First, the chocolate is excellent. Highly recommend.
Be aware that when it says "two disks", there are two thin disks within a single wrapped package. One easily could interpret the description to mean two of the wrapped items when they say two disks. Not cool.

So sorry I have not found or tried this sooner. I'm all for smooth style european chocolates, but this is nothing less than spectacular. Immediately you notice the somewhat gritty texture, and the intense chocolate flavor. (Yes it's a good thing.) The sugar then melts to mingle w/ the chocolate, making it sweet yet not fully combining with the chocolate. (Again a good thing, as the sugar has a great taste all it's own.) The heat then comes slowly and is warm with no bite, almost velvety - if there can be such a thing.

The second bite was just as intense and wonderful as the first - I strongly recommend.
