The Lindt Story
In 1845, confectioner David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his inventive son, Rudolf Sprungli-Ammann, owned a small confectionary shop in the Marktgasse of Zurich’s Old Town. They dared to try something new- a fashionable new recipe from Italy for manufacturing chocolate in solid form.
In 1879, Rodolphe Lindt, one of the most famous chocolate-makers of his day, developed a technique by which he could manufacture chocolate unique to others in aroma and melting characteristics. Lindt used the “conche” he had invented to produce chocolate with delicate flavor. His “melting chocolate” soon achieved fame, and contributed significantly to the worldwide reputation of Swiss chocolate.
It was in 1899 that Sprüngli’s private company “Chocolat Sprüngli” acquired the small but famous chocolate factory of Rodolphe Lindt in Berne. This brave step transferred not only the factory but also the manufacturing secrets and the Rodolphe Lindt brand name to the young Sprüngli company which now changed its name to “Lindt & Sprüngli.”
In 1986, Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) Inc., was activated and a manufacturing site and administration building were commissioned in Stratham, New Hampshire where it has expanded and successfully operates today.

Answer: No, this chocolate isn't at all bitter. It's not dark chocolate. It also isn't "waxy" like Hershey's chocolate.

I cut it into smaller pieces and store in a plastic container. Makes it easy to reach in and grab a piece -- and we like it better chilled.

I bought milk chocolate with hazelnuts and just with the first bite, I could tell it was made by Lindt. I wouldn't know how to describe the taste but that it tastes "lighter" than the Ritters Sport bar. As I went bar after bar, it tasted even better but overall if I had to choose between Lindt and Ritter, I would pick the latter.

It is about 7.5 Euro (~$8.5) at the airports in Europe and there was a deal and I bought 5 of these for about $20.0 from amazon. The taste is definitely different (color, flavor), not the same quality, probably contains less milk. The bottom line is that if you get used to the European version and if one bar costs less than $5, it is OK; however, if you pay more than $7.5 , you may want to wait for your next trip.

Well, I found these Lindt bars on Amazon from the seller above and was delighted to receive REAL Swiss chocolate, un-melted, well packaged and in just a few days! So, now I can get that great chocolate you normally only find in Duty Free shops right online. If you are a lover of untainted, real Swiss Lindt chocolate, then this is the place to get it! I will definitely be back for more.

I have been eating this and other Swiss / Belgian chocolates in the Arabian Gulf for a few years now. This order was for my mother in the US as a surprise gift. She only likes Milk Chocolate, and loved this one. These are large slabs and well worth the money.

After lengthy Internet comparison shopping for this fantastic chocolate I found that Amazon had the best price of all the big stores, including some bargain/outlet stores. Not only did Amazon beat their price, but it delivered the sweet package via UPS within 2 days at super-saver rate! Amazon Magic!

In the beginning I tried to cancel the order because I felt that it was not what I wanted exactly which is (Lindt Gold Bar).
But It was a great surprise to find in the package what I wanted exactly. The image here is an old one that should be updated.
The packaging was great with thermal insulation and cold packs for the chocolate not to melt in the hot summer.
the price is really the lowest. I searched the internet to find a better price and the best I got was 7.50 usd per each + shipping.
That's why I said it is JUST PERFECT. It made my day

Edel : The ultimate hazelnut (or any nut) milk chocolate
The combination of Lindt milk chocolate and these full hazelnuts is simply heavenly. I am a very balanced person when keeping things in the right proportions food-wise is concerned... but I can easily indulge by eating half of these king-size tablet in one day. The 300g size, the taste, the quality, everything is over the top here. It really is a case where the nuts and the milk chocolate are well balanced, and their marriage offers an incredibly plentiful experience.

My aunt used to bring me some of this chocolate from Switzerland and I really love it that’s why I ordered them. But this one doesn’t taste the same as the original. It taste okay but doesn’t taste like the original version from Switzerland. The hazelnuts tastes kinda old.
Art.Deco : Best Swiss Chocolates
These are the real Swiss Lindt chocolates which are delicious. However, the packaging was so big and poo trying to provide cooling, which is appreciated, that 5 bars arrived broken. The 2 stars taken are for the poor packaging of the product in a box that could have fitted 500 bars, and does not represent the excellent quality of the product.

I have always loved Lindt so when I needed to get a gift for my Girlfriend I got these. I bought from Amazon and they made sure to ship it with some Ice packs. Living in California where its hot most of the year, so the ice packs are much appreciated. Unfortunately, my girlfriend has gotten used to these and said "Other chocolate just tastes waxy now." I bought them for all the women in my life, my sister, my mother, my grandmother, aunts, and cousins. They make great mid ranged gifts at Christmas because they're Swiss chocolate, but mostly I like putting them in homemade ice cream or brownies.
nevermind : The Best!
After lengthy Internet comparison shopping for this fantastic chocolate I found that Amazon had the best price of all the big stores, including some bargain/outlet stores. Not only did Amazon beat their price, but it delivered the sweet package via UPS within 2 days at super-saver rate! Amazon Magic!

I have been eating this and other Swiss / Belgian chocolates in the Arabian Gulf for a few years now. This order was for my mother in the US as a surprise gift. She only likes Milk Chocolate, and loved this one. These are large slabs and well worth the money.
I second another reviewer who said people who have been eating Hershey (or pretty much any US made) chocolates must taste these. It will blow you away.

I love this chocolate bar but when I ordered it from Amazon I only received one single bar. Although in the prescription of the items it says 4.

Es la segunda orden que he recibido. Siempre lo había comprado en el free shop cada vez que viajaba. Cuando lo ordene por primera vez pude comprobar que era la misma calidad que la del free shop, ya no tenía que viajar para poder comprarlos. Ahora los compro cada vez que tengo deseos de comerlos. El sabor y embalaje perfecto y es una muy buena inversión debido a su precio.

The description says you will get 4 bars, I received 1. That makes it the most expensive chocolate bar I ever purchased. Definitely not worth it. Twenty three dollars for one 10 oz. bar is highway robbery.

I ordered the Milk Chocolate Bars. They arrived in good shape with tons of tape circling the package. I love chocolate and opened the packages immediately. The chocolate was sooo waxy it wouldn't even melt in my mouth. The chocolate flavor was very mild. Terrible! Won't be ordering that again. If they changed to recipe then they lost a fan.
