Do you want a sugar-free product that tastes like genuine licorice? Then try these little licorice bears from Gustaf's. Each cute little bear is firm but chewy and has a nice, strong licorice taste, characteristic of genuine European licorice. Although mostly sweet, there is a slight salty overtone, a result of the aluminum chloride, an ingredient common in Dutch licorice. These are flavored with maltitol, so consume in moderation.

I love this product. Real rich licorice taste with no added menthol and not excessively sweet like some other products. I eat these as a treat. These are sugar free and the sweetness is balanced. Not sure how the ones with sugar compare.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. When i received my order it wasn't Gummy bears like i Ordered. It was some kinda round disc and i have never tasted anything like this. I spit it out. And beings they probably wouldn't take any type of food back I'm putting it in the Garbage.

Good initial licorice flavor but after a couple pieces bears started to taste like poison/gasoline. Only ate 2 or 3 at a time that was fine, was eating throughout the day but after couple helpings noticed my stomach was getting upset.

I bought this for sugar free but they use Maltitrol which is very close to sugar (75%). The glycemic index is 52 while sugar is 60. I will not be able to eat this.

These little bears more closely resemble German licorice. I find them yummy. Diabetics beware: the glycemic index of maltitol, the sugar alcohol sweetener, while decidedly safe has a glycemic index that is not much lower than ordinary sugar. Sorbitol and mannitol are better alternatives, but impossible to find and very expensive. Another benefit of this product is it will not promote tooth decay. There is nothing artificial about the taste, hence the five stars.

Mary Ann : Divide package into smaller packages (air tight zip lock bags work well) to keep gummies fresh.

five star reviews are doubtful. These are absolutely horrible. First, there is no licorice flavor. They are not sweet, which is fine, but there's this extremely unpleasant sourness to them (and not like lemon sour, like something rotten sour) that is so awful I will not be eating any more of them. Am now stuck with 2 lbs of expensive garbage.
