Is this candy sour and sweet or spicy as well?

Answer: This is a tamarind and chilli candy paste. It is sweet and tart/tangy and spicy. It's all the "yummy" in one package. Tried these one Halloween years ago and have been absolutely hooked on tamarind candy since. All varieties of Pelon Pelo Rico and Pulparindo/Pulparindots have become staples in my household.

Answer: Sorry I do not know the exact size. I bought it for my nephews who were born in Mexico and leave now in South Africa. As I remember they should be in the 3 inches range.

This is a 3.5 for me unfortunately. This is not the same taste as my childhood candy, it’s a tad salty and doesn’t have the spice flavoring. Packaging and everything look the same and expiration is in 2022 but it tastes better from the bodegas. For the price though, I honestly don’t mind. It was pretty warm when I received it so maybe that affected the taste, hopefully it’s better as it’s in some place dark.

I’ve been buying these for years. They’re a loved favorite by many and ridiculously addictive. However, my last shipment came with new packaging, a new “flavor“ name (used to be “original tamarindo” but now it’s “sabor a tamarindo”) and a whole different taste. It has an off-putting aftertaste. It’s just not the same candy I used to love. Sadly, I threw out every single candy in my most recent shipment.

Best price you'll find! Everyone's favorite. Bought for my daughters' communion "fiesta" theme party and they were perfect. Each item is individually wrapped. It made me a little uncomfortable not being able to find an expiration date on the package.
